Book Reading and signing with Alden Solovy. Alden Solovy spreads joy and excitement for prayer. A poet and liturgist, his work has been used by people of all faiths throughout the world. He’s written more than 600 pieces of new liturgy, offering a fresh new Jewish voice, challenging the boundaries between poetry, meditation, personal growth and prayer. His writing was transformed by multiple tragedies, marked in 2009 by the sudden death of his wife from catastrophic brain injury. The Jerusalem Post called his writing “soulful, meticulously crafted.” Huffington Post Religion said “…the prayers reflect age-old yearnings in modern-day situations.” Alden returns to Temple Emanuel just a month after his third book – This Grateful Heart: Psalms and Prayers for a New Day – was published by CCAR Press. A native Chicagoan, Alden made aliyah to Jerusalem in 2012. His writing is available at www.tobendlight.com.
