Together, as a sacred community, we strengthen and deepen Jewish journeys.
Our Jewish values provide us with the framework to build on the past, thrive in the present and innovate for future generations.
Together, we rejoice.
Together, we comfort.
Together, we pray.
Together, we learn.
Together, we repair the world.
Together, we seek God in our midst.
Jewish Values Matrix
In these turbulent times—whether due to global conflicts, rising anti-Semitism, political shifts, economic uncertainty, or climate extremes—it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. At Temple Emanuel, we recognize the challenges of navigating difficult conversations with family, friends, and colleagues who may hold differing views.
To provide clarity and consistency, we are introducing a Jewish Values Matrix—a framework rooted in our sacred texts, history, and traditions—to guide our responses to emerging issues. Similar to the approach we used during COVID-19, this values-based structure will help shape our decisions and public statements.
Our values fall into four key categories:
- Spiritual Values
- Mental Health Values
- Communal Values
- Policy Values
We understand that not everyone will agree with every position we take, and we welcome open, respectful dialogue. Your voice matters—whether you support or question a stance, we want to hear from you. Together, we can ensure our community remains a thoughtful, compassionate, and sacred space for all.
Stay engaged. Stay connected. Let’s navigate this together.
