2023 Annual Fundraiser Concert

Saturday, February 4, 2023 13 Sh'vat 5783

7:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Join us for Grammy Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Lisa Loeb

Please join us at our annual fundraising concert on Saturday night,  February 4th, 2023 as as we honor Jan Friedland as the first woman president of the Temple Emanuel’s Board of Trustees. It is appropriate as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first woman rabbi and the 100th anniversary of the first Bat Mitzvah that we celebrate our first woman president. Jan served from 1983-1986 and blazed the trail for four women who followed her as president: Nancy Gart, Henny Kaufmann, Laurie Saltzman, Ellen Abrams, as well as our current president-elect Wendy Nekritz.

Our guest artist, Lisa Loeb, is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter & touring musician, SiriusXM radio host, actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who started her career with the platinum-selling hit song “Stay (I Missed You)” from the film Reality Bites. A trailblazing independent artist, Lisa was the first pop musician to have a Number 1 single while not signed to a recording contract. The Dallas, TX native recently released her 15th album, A Simple Trick To Happiness, to stellar reviews from critics and fans. Lisa is also well known to parents and kids for her five children’s albums, and two illustrated children’s books with music. She collaborated to develop and write the children’s musical “Camp Kappawanna” which debuted at New York City’s Atlantic Theater Company. Inspired by her own love of summer camp, in 2008, Lisa started The Camp Lisa Foundation, which sends underserved kids to summer camp. As an actor, Lisa will soon be appearing in Hallmark's upcoming holiday movie, Hanukkah on Rye, in December.
