Belonging & Becoming: A Community Conversation

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 7 Iyar 5784

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

As the largest Jewish congregation in the Rocky Mountain region, Temple Emanuel is using the occasion of its 150th anniversary to invite the broader community into a conversation about the future of Jewish life. We have invited three distinguished thought leaders: Rabbi Isaiah Rothstein, Rabbinic Scholar and Public Affairs Advisor at Jewish Federations of North America and founder of Jewish Federations’ JEDI Initiative for Jewish Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Dr. Sara Shapiro-Plevan, Founder and CEO of the Gender Equity in Hiring Project; and Adam Pollack, Chief Program Office of 18Doors.

We will begin with a forward-looking moderated panel discussion on inclusion, belonging, and the future of Jewish institutions in Colorado and beyond. Our distinguished guests will each provide a "state of the union" for their content areas, sharing with us their insights, concerns, and hopes at this critical tipping for the Jewish community. They will answer audience questions, and also provide us with questions to explore as we leave this conversation. We are inviting a wide cross-section of the Denver Jewish world to join us for this event so that together we can ensure all Jewishly-connected people feel welcomed, included, and that they belong. This conversation will spark the ideas and relationships that can carry us into our next 150 years.

There will be a dessert reception after the event. This event will also stream live on our website and Facebook.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
