Temple Emanuel clergy works with families of all kinds. Whether you are from an interfaith family, LGBTQIA+, a single parent - we look forward to welcoming you.

Brit Milah (Bris) and Baby Naming

Temple Emanuel clergy will officiate these services for both Temple Emanuel members and non-members. Prior to a bris or baby naming, parents meet with a clergy member to plan the service. Please be advised that use of our building is only available to members. Non-members will be assessed a fee of $250.

Conversion

Interested in learning more about Judaism...or possibly converting to Judaism? Our community Intro to Judaism class is the best place to start. It is designed to give students (Jews & non-Jews) a wonderful opportunity to learn about the history, culture, religious practices and day to day life of the Jewish people. The 27 class series is taught by a variety of rabbis, cantors and top educators so students will learn from the many voices of Judaism. The program is also a requirement for anyone considering conversion.

Memorial Plaques and Weekly Kaddish List

Bronze plaques to honor a deceased loved one are available for purchase. The plaques are printed with the name and date of death and hung in the memorial chapel of the synagogue. Your loved one’s name will be published in the Temple bulletin prior to their yahrzeit and read each year at Shabbat services following the secular date of death. In addition, you and other family and friends whom you list will receive an email reminder of the yahrzeit each year. Plaques cost $500. $90 covers the cost of the plaque. The remainder is your generous donation in memory of your loved one. Purchase a plaque now.

Even if you do not purchase a memorial plaque, you may add the names of loved ones to our weekly Kaddish list using our website. Once you have an account setup on our website, visit the Yahrzeits area of your account to enter the name of the deceased and mourners to notify. If you are a Temple member and need help with your account, please contact the Temple office at 303-388-4013.
