Israel Solidarity Mission Reflections on Yom Ha'atzmaut

Today, we celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, and this day calls us to think about how each of us can connect to the people of Israel and to the land. As many of you know, our community traveled to Israel last month on our Solidarity Mission - and our entire congregation was with us in our hearts as we experienced this moment in our shared story.
This Yom Ha'atzmaut, we are honored to share with you the growing collection of personal stories, reflections, and moments of meaning experienced by our trip participants. Their voices offer glimpses into the deep connections we felt—and continue to feel—with the land of Israel, its people, and the enduring hope it represents. We also share with you the energy and purpose that have been sparked in our congregation. We invite our entire community to join us as we find tangible ways to connect to Israel and its people, to advocate for our hostages, and to comfort those who have been so deeply impacted since October 7th.
We are so proud to be a part of a diverse congregation made up of individuals who think deeply and critically about how each person can connect, can contribute, can participate, and can help - see below for reflections, videos, and opportunities to get involved.
With gratitude and hope,
Rabbi Hyatt and Cantor Sacks
